A few months ago (ok maybe almost a year ago) I purchased a Groupon for a train ride in Boone, Ia. Since it expires this July we figured we should This post, I'm going to be honest is going to be a bit heavy on Josiah's reaction to this trip. From the moment we told the kids we were going on a train ride Josiah's face would just light up when talking about it. Kait was excited, but it couldn't match Josiah's. Isaiah, well he just looked at you and then ran away. ;-) When we first got everyone unloaded at the train station and were headed in Josiah kept saying how excited he was. "I'm so excited" followed by a "toot toot" with the whole little arm action of pulling the whistle chain. My heart melted. Seeing this level of excitement and pure joy out of one of my children just melted my heart. That little guy could have gotten pretty much anything from me at that moment if he had just asked. Attached to the train station is a museum. THEY. HAD. A. TRAIN. TABLE! The kids loved it. Almost caused tears when we told them we needed to go get on the train. Almost. And then we walked thru the gift shop on our way to the train and they had ANOTHER train table. Their minds were blown. ALMOST made me want to buy them one. Almost. I have no room. Zero room. There was so much going on. To their left was a big glass door and 10 feet outside that door was THE TRAIN. To their right was a weee little baby craying. Behind them was the gift shop with the train table they didn't get to play with and in front of them was the ticket booth and MANY more people. Trying to get all 4 to look at the camera at the same time. Impossible. Love Kait's sun glasses? She 100% picked her outfit today. Love this girl. Notice Isaiah's face? we broke down. He only gets his nuk in his crib. But today, he missed nap. We figured this was a good excuse when you couldn't get up and leave if your kid has a total melt down! Kait spend a good chunk of the time watching the kids across the train from us. Josiah just stared out the window 90% of the time. He was in love of all things trains
Isaiah. Well, Isaiah bounced around between me and Ben, watching out the window and watching the other kids.
