I had the best of intentions of putting together a GREAT post for the kid's first birthday. BUT I didn't have it finished/Started by the 9th. That morning we lost power for a few hours and then when it finally came back on we left for vacation. Then life got in the way. Not to mention the fact that besides the kids's smash cake pics I hadn't managed to get any "normal" 1 year pics. Leave it to me to take them 1 1/2 weeks late, right? Kids had their 1 year appt 1 week after their bithday. Kaiters measured at 30" and ALMOST 20lbs (about 50%). Tank measured at 30 1/2 (now that I can't find their papers I'm wondering if it wasn't 31 and 31 1/2.....) and he weighed in at just over 22lbs (I think this is about 75%). Kaiters has been taking a few steps. Today we were outside playing under some trees and she even took steps on her own with no coaxing from us! Tank gets way to excited and tries to walk with his belly stuck WAY out. Ape crawling is more his thing. Currently their favorite thing to play with is the new driveway gravel. Seriously. Gravel. Who needs toys when you have gravel??? I'm lacking on pics lately. :( My memory card is FULLLLLL. I've already deleted the "not so good pics" TWICE. Luckily I'm headed to Rochester this week so I'll start taking more pics soon! Until then here are some of their 1 year photos. I have much more to blog about since I've been slacking. But I'm going to leave that for another night. Enjoy these pictures. I may be biased but I think my kids are the cutest

Life with the kids has been really good lately. We've (The kids and I, NO dad) have made a few trips to town. Yesterday we went to the farm store, grocery store and the farmers market and didn't even break a sweat. Kids rocked it. Today we got to enjoy the parade (enjoy is a relative term for some of us) in town and then visisted with family. Kaiters was quite content with her thumb and ANYONE holding her. She LOVED the band and floats that had music. I could have predicted this girls would dance. :) Tank started off OK and then the fire trucks started with their sirens, took him 1/2 the parade to ALMOST enjoy it again. Poor kid. Hopefully next year he'll like it more. After lunch the kids and I headed home for a nap and dad went to bale hay at the farm. Perfect 4th of july day in my book. Enjoy a few pics They aren't my greatest pictures. I was playing around with my camera.
