Between the end of year busy season for Ben, finals for me, the holiday season and just every day life I have apparently lost all track of time! It has been over 2 weeks since I have made a posting. I noticed though some of you are great followers and keep checking back for new updates! LOVE YOU FOR THAT! We honestly haven't been getting a ton of things done here lately. Painting just isnt' high on my to do list :S. It is so much more work than just painting. Pull all nails, fill in holes, cracks etc, let dry and repeat, sand down wall and then hopefully you can paint. And that doesnt' include trying to pick out colors. Now that we are here and in the house I am going to try a few colors on the walls since it isn't a time sensive thing anymore. Ben's dad came down and helped us cut down a few trees so we had a pile for fire wood. I think he had WAY to much fun. Kind of like a kid in a candy store. He said "I just like to see them fall". Made me laugh. I got to drive the skid loader during all of this, putting all the large logs in a pile. I had fun but I need to convince Ben to buy me a hand controlled skid loader. My legs just aren't long enough to comfortably control the bucket. ON THE HOUSE: In the one bedroom upstairs we managed to pull up the flooring. It had a lineing of old news papers under it. Ben read all of them I think. such a history boy. :S. We decided to put off trying to pull wall paper down until my floor steam cleaner gets here. There are at least 6 layers of wall paper, hoping the steam mop works better than trying to peal and scrape it all off! I did get curtains finally hung up in the bathroom! Good thing we live in the country, and the bathroom is on the west side of the house. :) Sorry I have no pictures of any of this :(. I do have pics of the chicken coop that got decked out for Christmas! I really should take a new picture though because the icicle lights have had a chance to hand down. ChristmasWe didn't do much decorating for the holidays this year. The chicken coop and our tree (sans gifts under it) are pretty much the only things, sad I know. I am thinkin next year will be more festive at our house. I have had most of my shopping done for a while now. I had to make a last min trip to the alcohol store and had a few things to find for my Niece Miss C. But now everything is done and wrapped. I'm making a pumpkin cheese cake for both meals (his parents and my parents) Ben is making squirl for at my moms and i'm taking home made apple sauce for the kiddos. I'm ready for the food! BirthdayMy birthday was a good one. I got a hug, a kiss, and an I love you from my husband. He took me out to lunch and ordered for me. I hate ordering! So this was a good thing. I put on over 200 miles on my truck that day and had class. I was so tired by the time I finally got home. Next year I'm going to be 29, and for the next few years.
I have a vintage family heirloom quilt that wasn't good enough to use or display, there were holes all over, binding coming off. I've had it a hide away spot or in a box since I was given it. Here is how I made it into something special, something that I can display.
