The kids and I took a road trip to Mason City today. This is big because its a good 45min away so it always messes with schedules. ANYWHO, the above picture. Pull ups, I bought a pkg. The smallest pkg target sells but none the less I bought a pair. Nights are a bit frustrating for me at the moment. I gave the rest of Isaiah's diapers to the Sharing Room at church after a week of zero night accidents and sleeping thru the night. Leave it to Isaiah to throw a monkey wrench right when all diapers left the house. :-/ he USUALLY wakes around 2 to pee. Which is fine, but there are a few nights where he has an accident. At 2 am I'm half awake. Do I put him in pull ups? Do I deal with the occasional accident? I'm torn. Where I don't really like the concept of pull ups, I also do not enjoy changing bedding at 2 am. I'm also SUPER hesitant to open the $7.99 pkg because the smallest they have is 2t/3t.... are they even going to fit? Should I have just gotten a small pkg of diapers? Why am I making this harder than it should be?
The rest of our trip to Target was pretty uneventful. The kids probably spent a good 40 min in the toy dept touching EVERY SINGLE TOY and pushing EVERY SINGLE BUTTON. I'm sorry to the other shoppers who witnessed our dancing next to the FROZEN toys. We just had to dance to "Let it go", all 4 of us. The little monsters loved it. I avoided all the spots that make me want to spend WAY TO MUCH $$$$ but may have walked ever so slowly past every clearance section. Of course I treated the hoodlums to lunch. They were so good in Target and Kohls because MOM had to get out of the house. They voted McDonalds, I picked pizza hut. Feed 4 for less than $10 when kids 3 and under eat free? And they have salad with veggies? Heck yes! They truly underestimate the ability of my kids to eat. ;-)

This child, what can I say? Somehow he got to be 18 months old. I'm not sure how. I'll try to hold off on the tear jerker youngest child update. He sure is an individual, a spit fire, independent, sassy, bright, caring, cuddler. In the last six months he has changed and grown SO MUCH. He adds words (most only I can understand and if I'm lucky Josiah and Kaitlin can hear it too). His first words, before he turned 1 I swear was "thank you" he sure is a polite little guy. His favorite word lately is NO closely followed by combine (mombine), semi (memi) and cow (Dow). He is wearing clothes Jnk wore when they were 2/3. Weighs 27.5lbs. Out-eats both jnk on a daily basis. Isaiah loves his tractors. Ben had a PILE of 1:64th tractors and equipment from when he was little. We brought them down from WI for Josiah. Josiah plays with them on and off but they just don't hold his attention. Look and find books are more his thing. Isaiah on the other hand can be completely occupied for an hour with them. Hooking and unhooking equipment. Trying to hook up equipment onto things they just don't match with. He will play in the window by himself, completely happy about it. My favorite is when he brings armloads of equipment into the living room, plops several loads in the middle of the rug and just surrounds himself. With the weather getting cooler I used the kids pool and made them a sand box in the (soon to be heated) garage, give Isaiah a few tractors and he is content for hours (ok maybe an hour but in little kid time that's HOURS) In September we got the kids a puppy. A collie named Kasie (should have named her trouble). Isaiah has a love/hate relationship with her. Kasie has a LOVE LOVE LOVE LET ME LICK YOUR FACE I LOVE YOU SO MUCH relationship with him. They are about the same size at the moment. Isaiah usually looses the battle and ends up on the ground under the excited puppy. I just hear KASIE NO! from him. Its usually to cute that I'm hesitant to help the man out. Speaking of "man". Isaiah is THE MAN. I've seen signs of being ready to potty train for awhile now. And I've let him run around with undies for a few hours hear and there. But never really committed myself to training him. With JnK at home we were both just to distracted. BUT they were scheduled to be in WI visiting Grandparents for almost a week. Who could think of anything better to do when 2/3 of their children are GONE but potty train their 17m old? I could have gotten so much done! But this situation doesn't preset itself often. I'm proud to announce. Mr. Isaiah is completely potty trained. Day and Night. I set out with low expectations of getting him trained and had zero expectations for night training him. He did that himself. We have been diaper free for a week and a half and I've never in my life bought a pull-up. I never would have thought this possible. NEVER. So my baby. My sweet little blond hair, blue eyed baby is no longer that, a baby. Even Josiah and Kaitlin now refer to him as a toddler. My heart breaks. So many firsts have become my lasts. I look forward to all my children hitting new milestones and growing into the best people they can be but its something about knowing that you'll never see YOUR BABY smile for the first time again, eat and enjoy solid foods for the first time, their first words, their first steps, watching them dance for the first time... I just can't. unfortunately to see the uncropped photos you'll have to click on them. :-( next time I won't use gallery.
