I've been spending time with the babies and my hubby when he is home. And I must admit I may be developing an addiction to shopping for cloth diapers that I never buy.... I really have to buy a few more but I hate spending money! I'm currently washing diapers every day, this gets old. Every other day would be fine with me! But here are some examples of why it can be so addicting (thanks to ETSY.com) http://www.etsy.com/listing/110227869/country-springtime-girls-pink-aqua Below: Kait's butt would look SO CUTE in these! http://www.etsy.com/listing/82732617/firefighter-aio-cloth-diaper-medium?ref=sr_gallery_2&ga_search_query=aio+firefighter&ga_view_&ga_ship_to=US&ga_search_ BELOW: Seriously who could resist a little fireman? Now there are MUCH CHEEPER ways to spend my money on cloth diapers but there are some that are just so darn cute! I'm sure I'll just end up buying some plain jane name brand from the big guys... someday. Maybe someone will have a seconds sale soon. I did buy a lined diaper cover for each kid with a CHEVRON print to use as a swim diaper. Made sense to me since they are a OS and will fit them from now through about 35lbs. :D ChickensWe've been getting eggs again! I currently have over 2 1/2 dozen in my fridge :) Caught a total of 3 possum. Trap is still set but haven't even caught a cat lately. 3rd dog must be learning. And what you really came here to see. I should be taking more soon as they will be 4 months old on the 9th!

You'd think that being a WASHMACHINE it would stay cleaner. Ugh my project is cleaning my washing machine today.I have to keep it clean from fabric softner and detergent build up so it doesn't ruin my cloth I'd rather clean the bathroom than my washer. Why is that?
I'm really hoping to get a new machine soon. Sooner than later. I'd move the old one in the basement (finally) for diapers and use the one upstairs for clothes etc. We spend $80 on this washer over 4 years ago, my last washer I had inherited from my grandpa. I think I deserve a new one don't you? If anyone sees or speaks to my hubby today could you mention how it would be a great suprise for his wife if he just showed up at home with a BRAND NEW WASHMACHINE?!?! I finally got the cage cleaned out yesterday morning and re-set it. Sacrificed another egg as bait. Ben left the house to leave for work this morning and came back in and said "we got another one". My first thought was "WE"?? But super excited we got another one!
And one more Opossum eliminated. I have a feeling this was the MAMA opossum (really i have no hard feelings about this). She is way bigger than the one Ben already "took care of" and the ones I saw running accross the yard. Today we have already gotten 2 eggs. Hope we get more soon! I'm assuming the babies will either 1. relote looking for their mother OR 2. come looking for more food and get caught in the Have a Heart trap..... Ben is out hunting squirl and the kids are sleeping. Laundry is in the dryer, dishes are washed. AND best of all we get to watch the packer game tonight! Ok, Ben may be way more excited about this than I am. But I am excited for him. Rain, Rain, RainWe've finally gotten some much needed rain, and a great soaker at that! Not complaining because we NEED it. Neighbors said they don't remember our creek ever drying up before. It's dry, beyond dry this year. We will still need a LOT more rain to get the creek flowing again but replacing some of the moisture in the ground is a great start! It was nice to have a day where you just got to stay in the house and not think "I should be outside doing..." The only thing that I adjusted due to the rain is I said we had to leave early for church so we could park pretty close to the doors, we normally park about 1 block away... it was raining to hard to carry both kids 1 block in the rain. Bugs, Bugs and MORE OBNOXIOUS BUGS!The best part of wakin up is Foldgers, and bugs in your cup. Nothing gets you going better in the morning than a cup of jo with flies floating in it. Seriously I leave it on the side table for 3 min and come back to find flies in it. HUMPH! I'm more than ready for it to be freezing cold all day long. These bugs have to leave!!! Between the box elder bugs and flies I don't know how much more of this I can take. I'm pretty sure 90% of my full vaccuum bag is BUGS.
Post overload today. I don't get out of the house much and all day long I am with the babies. I seriously have to do something that doesn't involve baby talk and kids songs... I HAVE A FEELING... that we will be paying for theropy for one if not both of our kids. I took pictures of Kait today. Just uploaded them onto the computer. Literally laughed out loud. Dare you not to also! and this just made me smile (BELOW)
Best tool I've found to help clean the stove!http://www.target.com/p/munchkin-cleaning-brush-set/-/A-13991509
I have these, well not THESE exact ones but the ones that came with my Dr. Brown baby bottles. While scrubbing my stove (I have no idea how it got SO NASTY!) I was getting frusterated by not being able to get into all the little vents. I wrapped this in a damp soapy paper towel (not to wet) and worked GREAT! Got into all the vents on the door and at the top of the oven. It looks so much better! Next I just have to tackle the inside of oven... Any suggestions from anyone on the best way, products etc to do this? I hate this job. (FYI we have a gas stove and no cleaning feature) Now that I used my bottle brush and cant find my second one guess I gotta add it to my list of things to order :S silly me. but a clean stove was worth it! Back to work.... I was a little bored with the design so I decided to update it a bit while the kiddos napped. I KNOW I should be doing anything else. Like, Laundry, Dishes, Dusting, Laundry, Sucking up box elder bugs, baking, cleaning the stove!, dishes, sucking up more bugs, feeding chickens.... and thats not to mention cleaning the floors, winterizing the windows in the bathroom and babies room, taking apart the full size bed up in our room so we can move our bed back in from the front porch (its getting a bit chilly out there at night!) putting the table back together, mending laundry ... I better stop cus my list could keep going. A few of the changes I did to the site was 1. deleated the "About Us" section... because seriously if you are reading this page you PROBABLY know us and if you don't know us that well you'll learn from my posts. 2. Deleted the "made in america" page. It was random and out there and honestly I have no time to figure that out and think about posting it.... . :D 3. Deleted "wild life' page becuase honestly it always makes it into my blog so I wasn't using that page at all. I'm open to any other suggestions :) Charlie Banana Cloth diapersI've invested in cloth diapers. I have a few happy hinny and some Charlie Banana Cloth diapers. By far I like the Charlie banana best. Cloth diapers may be a little more work but for us it is worth it. A month ago I bought a box of 275 size one diapers. On average I change about 16 diapers a day. If my math skills are still good that means I should have used up the box in just over 17 days. I still have 2/3 of the box left.
I'm not a totally crunchy mom. I only use the cloth diapers when we are home. When we go out or someone is watching the kids for us I don't expect them to deal with yucky diapers. There is a major perk to using disposable, wrap up the crap and toss... More math say a box of 6 cloth diapers is $120. That makes each diaper $20. If you use .25 cents as an average cost for each dispoable diaper I'll have to use each diaper 80 times. I currently have 6 that I purchased, the others were given to me. So I need to use 6 diapers 80 times thats 480 total diaper changes divided by average of 16 dirty diapers a day = 30 days to pay for them. Right? Not a picture of OUR Opossums.... and yes plural... one down, not sure how many more are out there.... I came home last night about 830 from making a grocery run and 2 opossums sprinted accross the yard, accross the driveway and accross the other yard.... to far infront of me to try and hit them. THEN later on there was one eating the dog food on the back porch. Couldn't get outside without it running away. ARGH! This being said our place is a war zone. These critters are NOT staying here and may be leaving in body bags. I am amused by the websites that say to catch them with "have a heart" live traps and then drive them at least 20 miles away and release them. "Not MY problem anymore, their yours" ;D. Yeah that doesn't work for us. Top 3 ways to get rid of these pesky critters according to some websites. 1. Live trap and drive far far away and release into someone elses back yard. 2. remove the food (that would be my chicken eggs and yeah don't think so) 3. remove the housing... I have no idea where they are living. They could be holed up in some random spot in the many outbuildigs or in a hole in a tree in our 30 some acres of trees.... or really anywhere.... Short term I've sprayed "critter way" spray stuff around the coop. Ben had some left over from the whole bat issue we had this summer. I was alittle worried that the chickens would be bothered by this spray but so far it doesn't seem like it. I hunted down our one and only live trap. (haven't needed them cus Brown Dog has kept all critters in check) However there is a reason we haven't used this live trap. It must have had a huge raccoon in it last and needed some major work done to the trip mechanism. I set it anyways hopeing if a varmit got in to eat the treat he MIGHT trip it. Ben got home and he thinks he fixed it.... Now hope we don't catch any more chickens or 3rd dog. PETA probably hates me but these varmits are NOT going to win this war and are leaving here in the perverbial body bag. And couldn't make a post without a few pics of the kids cus I know thats what you guys really check my blog for! (ABOVE) Kait says "seriously you're just going to let him lay on me?, Get him off please!" (ABOVE) JT says: "What I wasn't doing anything" (ABOVE) Kait says "I'm going to get outta here if I have to crawl outta here
Yup so 1/4 of their first year has passed, sad yes? They are getting so big! Both weighing right around 11 lbs. Josiah started rolling from his belly to his back consitantly about 2 weeks ago. TODAY Kait decided she was going to do it too! I know we got "official" 3 month old pictures taken but I couldn't help myself. Creativity helps keep my sanity in check so here are some pics I took with the kids today. One "outfit" or lack there of was all I/they could handle before it was nap time again... (Family Members let me know if you want copies of any of these or the ones I posted yesterday from our "official" photo shoot) Josiah had MANY faces for the camera, none overly happy, and Kait well wasn't her happiest moments. AND now for a reality check...This is what life is like for me at least 2-3 times a day...
