Today my little man turned 6m. I'll be honest I may hug and give this child way to many kisses each day. His cheeks are so soft and yummy. His baby giggles infectious. I just can't get enough. There is a huge part of me that is sad he will be our last. This stage has to be my favorite so far. Why can't it last a bit longer? In a few short months we will have another toddler on our hands. My baby will be gone, it is flying by way to fast. I fear tomorrow I'll wake up and he will no longer be the sweet, happy, smiling, cooing baby that he is today. Instead every day my heart will break a little at a time. Every one of his firsts, will be my last. The first time he crawls, will be the last time my baby crawls for the first time. His first word will be the last time I get to hear my child's first word. His first step, will be the last time I get to see my child walk for the first time. (picture a red faced, puffy eyed mommy writing this post with a box of klenex beside me) If any baby makes you want to have another, it is this kid right here. Seriously happy all the time. Wakes up cooing. Goes to sleep the same. Fusses when hungry, wet or tired but hardly ever CRIES. Ok if he is made to sleep in public and NOT in his crib or car seat THEN he cries. But that's it. Honestly. Perfect baby. Sorry Josiah and Kaitlin but you may have been perfect babies had there not been two of you at the same time. You were great babies, I will give you that. For twins we couldn't have asked for better babies. But I think seeing as Isaiah is one it makes him seem like a much easier child. That being said I hate being pregnant. HATE it. I do not make a good pregnant person. I LOVE my 3 blessings and thank God every day for them and our ability to have them. But I've said this before, if He has plans on us having a larger family they'd better come from another mother. Isaiah just started sitting on his own. Wobbly yet, but sits on his own none the less. Until Josiah or Kaitlin zoom past at lightning speed then he tips over. He still only has his two bottom teeth but he drools and chews on things constantly. His bottom gums are swollen for a day or two and then not for a few days. Kaitlin and Josiah both got their bottom 4 teeth in before their top two, I have a feeling this will be true with Isaiah. It's only time before he is eating steak. Again I am be bawling like a baby here. I'm going to miss this baby! Since his 3m update he has started on solids. Broccoli, green beans, carrot, beats, peas, applesauce, peaches, bananas, pumpkin, squash, peach/cranberry, apple/rhubarb. I wont lie he isn't a huge fan of everything right off the bat, but we keep trying it. Carrots would make him gag but now he likes them. We are still working on peas. He LOVES pumpkin with cinnamon for supper and LOVES bananas. I've been making all his baby food. With the exception of the carrots and peaches all are home grown or local. Apples came from the local apple orchard and the pumpkins came from the neighbor. I did this with Josiah and Kaitlin too. Makes me feel better about what I'm feeding them. For those of you who say Isaiah looks just like Josiah. I hate to break it to you but I feel he is the perfect combination of both Josiah and Kaitlin. Isaiah has Josiah's blue eyes. He has his same complexion (I think). But he doesn't have his widows peak (which Josiah got from me) His face is shaped more like Kaitlin's. His ears are neither Josiah's or Kaitlin's. Isaiah also has Kait's "tame" hair before it became curly. Makes me curious if he'll have curly hair too (if we let it grow out).

It's been awhile. A LONG while. Say, 3 months? Mom has no excuses, no apologies.
We have been busy making memories. We have been busy playing in the leaves. We have been busy making cookies. We have been busy playing with the puppies. We have been busy feeding the animals. We have been busy learning our ABCs and our 123s We have been busy playing on our swings. We have been busy collecting acorns, pine cones and leaves. We have been busy painting! We have been busy going for walks and playing in/by the creek. We have been busy going for walks. We have been busy playing at the park! We have been busy picking up sticks. We have been busy helping dad make fire wood. We have been busy reading books. And more books....And more books. We have been busy picking broccoli and brussel sprouts from the garden We have been busy playing in the barn. We have been busy spending time at auctions with mom and dad. We have been busy busy busy living life to its fullest each day. We apologize for keeping mom so busy but she loves us and we really appreciate the time she spends doing things with us! Isaiah turns 6m on the 5th. I know she has been thinking of doing a post because he is getting SO BIG! Hopefully we get some good 6m photos of him in the next few days. We love to make him smile and giggle! NOTE FROM MOM: Posted the previous post. It is unedited. Unfinished. Unacceptable in my mind. But it covers a few things we did this summer. Sorry. :( I could sit here thinking of all the reasons that I haven't blogged in (eek) 2 whole months! But to be honest, short, sweet and simple. Family is the reason. LIFE is the reason. So there it is. No excuses. These little people in my life come first. Laundry is a bit further down that list, below that somewhere is Laundry. And WAY below that is Blogging. Sorry people. We still love you. Summer has been busy. Not that life with three children 2 and under is going to be any less crazy now that it is fall and winter is right around the corner. IOWA STATE FAIR We went to the Great Iowa State Fair this summer. Left Isaiah with a (great) baby sitter for the day. Josiah and Kait had a BLAST! Some of you may have seen the short clip I posted on Facebook of Josiah "baaaing" at the sheep as we walked thru the sheep barn. To FUNNY! I'm to frugal/cheep to pay for my blog page, otherwise I'd upload the video clip here.
Went to the most perfect wedding everLabor Day weekend we packed up and drove to Eagle River, WI. My dad's cousin's daughter (whatever "removed" that makes her to me- I refer to her as my cousin) was getting married. I didn't get enough pictures. Not even close. 3 kids kept me busy not to mention the free alcohol ;). The wedding was held at her parents house, an old girls camp on a chain of lakes in northern Wisconsin. There was no little detail left unfinished. It was perfect. I told Ben he had better start saving now for Kait's wedding. |
